Answers to Your Most Common Questions

Maltech-Africa Veritas is committed to transparency. Here are clear answers to help you understand how our system works.

General

What is Maltech-Africa Veritas?

A compliance, valuation and data bureau that empowers formally registered Zimbabwean SMEs in South Africa and across borders by verifying them, valuing them, collecting verified diaspora data and facilitating access to funding.

Who can use Veritas services?

Zimbabwean businesses formally registered and operating in South Africa; Zimbabwean SMEs formally registered locally but banking in South Africa; and banks, investors, policymakers and communities seeking verified data.

Data Pool

What is the Data Pool System?

A centralised database of formally registered diaspora business information. It powers compliance checks, builds credit readiness profiles, supports funding access and measures community impact.

Why should I register?

To build credibility with banks and investors; to qualify for loan and booster funding facilitation; to be included in diaspora impact reporting; to strengthen your compliance profile.

Can informal businesses register?

No. Only formal, registered businesses can join. Informal operators must first complete compliance and registration. See our Formalization page.

Verification & Valuation

How does verification work?

Through our KYC/KYB portals and reports (Track & Trace, Property, Investor, Complex) we validate business identity, compliance and registration status.

Why do I need a valuation report?

It supports loan applications, insurance, expansion, investor attraction and understanding your net worth.

How is the valuation calculator built?

It uses algorithm-based insights and market benchmarks from South Africa and international markets. It gives an indicative valuation and is not a certified valuation. [PLACEHOLDER: add a number of valuations only if you can substantiate it.]

Funding Access

Who qualifies?

Zimbabwean SMEs formally registered and operating in South Africa, and Zimbabwean SMEs formally registered locally but banking in South Africa. Both must be verified and registered in the Data Pool.

What types of funding are available?

SME loans, booster funding packages, growth capital, investor partnerships. All are subject to lender or investor approval.

How do I apply?

1) Register in the Data Pool. 2) Complete verification and valuation. 3) Submit your funding application through Veritas.
